2nd Trimester: Leggings
Once I got into my 2nd trimester, it was time to go up a size in some clothing. Mainly leggings, sweatpants, and underwear. I usually wear my sweaters and tees oversized anways, so that came in handy to accommodate my growing belly! Here are some bottom styles that I’ve been loving and living in throughout the 2nd trimester.
Leggings
Lululemon Align Pant II (as pictured in feature photo)
I’ve always been a fan of the Align collection from Lululemon, but I grew out of my pre-pregnancy ones during my 1st trimester. Even with the (amazing) stretch, my current ones were just too tight for my new belly! I went up a couple sizes and they fit like a glove.
One thing I really appreciate, is that these leggings come in a few different lengths. I wear the 25″ to have the leggings sit right above my ankle. The 28″ length are a bit longer and sit below my ankle for a full length look. For height reference I am 5’4″.
The Align Leggings give me medium support for the belly, feel buttery soft (if you know, you know), and they will be great postpartum, too! The Align Shorts are equally as comfortable, if you’re looking for shorts in the exact same material. Overall, a good investment to last longer than just pregnancy.
American Eagle OFFLINE Real Me High Waisted Leggings
I was quite pleased when I ordered these leggings in my late 1st trimester. They are comfortable, stretchy, and affordable! The OFFLINE Real Me Leggings offer light-medium support, but not as much as the Lululemon Align Pant. And bonus, they come in a 7/8 length, which I love.
One thing I love about ordering online from American Eagle is the sales are always poppin’ up every few weeks or so. Keep checking back every week or so to see if they go on sale!
Storq Signature Maternity Leggings
THESE. Unlike the Lululemon and Real Me Leggings, the Storq Signature Maternity Leggings are made of 92% Modal and 8% Spandex. Which translates to ultimate softness OMG. I love these for around the house because they feel like pj’s with the comfiness of it all!
Being an actual maternity legging, the band can be worn a couple ways. It is double lined to offer light support for growing belly, and can be pulled up over the bump, or worn under. Love, love, love!
Storq has so much to offer from tank tops, dresses, skirts, the cutest overalls, bras and more!
Sweat Pants
Target Stars Above Beautifully Soft Sweat Pants
During a Target stroll last year, I came across these sweat pants and immediately bought a pair. I’ve gifted them to so many family members because helloooo softness. After outgrowing my existing pair during my 2nd trimester, it was a no brainer to only get more (sizing up, of course). I would almost say these are as soft as the Storq leggings, but in a sweat pant version. If you don’t believe me just go to your local Target and feel them for yourself!
The Stars Above Sweat Pants are extremely comfortable, have pockets (yes please!), draw string at the waist, very cozy warm, and they wash/dry just as they should without loosing the softness the more you wear them. For the price, you cannot go wrong with these. Do yourself a favor a get two pairs, you won’t regret it.
Underwear
If you follow me on Instagram, you might have seen my stories about how I literally cut the elastics on my underwear band during my 1st trimester. I was so bloated in my low belly that all my underwear was so freaking tight. The undies that I cut, were MeUndies. One of the most comfortable and best fitting underwear I’ve ever owned.
Once my belly moved higher during the 2nd trimester, my cut undies were too big *siiighhh*. So, new ones were in order! I’ve been a long time fan of MeUndies for years and years and I restocked my underwear drawer, going up a size in my favorite colors and styles.
I love their (super soft) FeelFree Collection. Made of 92% MicroModal material, a barely there waistband (that doesn’t cut in), different styles, and lots of basic/bold/fun patterns to choose from. The love is undeniable! Especially when you try a pair on, ommmgggg.
Oh, and they sell more than undies. Did someone say a matching bralette…=)?
